Very much different from the German team that entered the year 2007, pushing the envelope surPLUShome in everything, from the use of new technologies for non-traditional architecture. So it really is not surprising that the German team that won, since they are very tight and impressive with Passivhaus building standards. The surPLUShome is the story of two cubes covered with a 11.1 kW PV system with panels on the roof (single-crystal silicon), side and front (thin film copper indium gallium diselenide). Inside, a multi-function room to operate as a kitchen, dining room, bathroom and bedroom.
Multi-purpose furniture is very good, and folds away to make space when not needed. Other important design features include custom-made vacuum insulated structural panels, boilers / heat pump system that provides hot water and warmth, and automatic louver window closed.
